week 15

Goooooood afternoon! It's belly bonanza day...this is for those of you tracking how chubby I get :) I took this one post-lunch because the belly is usually in its prime around 3pm. Nothing new to update really. I will go to the doctor May 1st and 13th and one of those times I will find out the sex! I forgot to listen and I'm too lazy to call so I guess it will be a surprise when I show up! I do love surprises...

Please excuse the "selfie". I was by myself at work today :)
(Don't worry, I don't dress like this at work. I had a giant sweater and belt...)

Total weight gain:   so last week I said "3lbs" which was actually from week 13 when I had my last OB visit....the TRUTH is it's more like 7lbs large at this point...depending on if I had Mexican that day or not.

Maternity clothes?  I've embraced several maternity tops but can still fit into things like dresses and stretchy skirts from pre-pregnant Michael days. That said, I have a letter in progress to Adidas to complain about their lack of athletic wear for preggos. All of my favorite running leggings seem to cut me in the weirdest spots and make gosh awful muffin tops all around. My choices are muffin top OR pulling my pants straight into my crotch. I'm onto something Adidas....I will take no less than 10% of all profits.

Stretch marks?  Still lathering up with Palmers Cocoa Butter paste like a mad woman. I was recently told there is nothing you can do to prevent stretch marks...and that genetics will always prevail. Balls.

Sleep:  I haven't been napping and I've been going to bed late which equals waking up late. At least I have the luxury of jerking around until 9:30 before I have to leave for work.

Best moment this week:   Getting my bike fixed so I can pregnant-lady beach cruise around the suburbs of Charlotte....I know that doesn't make any sense.

Miss Anything?  Sleeping on my stomach and of course sushi

Movement:  Something is happening down there...I don't think I'm feeling baby movement though. Probably more like Taco Bell movement.

Food cravings:  CARBS

Anything making you queasy or sick:  Chicken wings...what?!?

Gender:  I have myself so confused at this point that I will be genuinely surprised when I find out.

Symptoms:  Randomly waking up in the middle of the night and super vivid dreams. Also my tailbone hurts after days when I exercise. Dumbest thing ever.

Happy or Moody most of the time:  Happy, no crying this week....there is still tomorrow.

Looking forward to:  Finding out the sex AND getting a tan on this pale whale body.

In other noteworthy news my husband made this:

Almost one whole year in the making...off and on of course. I will take full responsibility for the delay though.

Good job McWill! He did this with almost no help at all. Well, I didn't help, but I think his brother Nick, our friend John, and maybe even Mark spent some minutes on it. A job well done by all...now finish it so I can use it :) Adios till next time.

visit from the sibs

My brother and his wife came down this weekend for an impromptu "brotha/sista visit". I'm quoting my sister-in-law who loves to calls us that! Les and Sarah came in Thursday night after a loooooong 13+ hour drive. My mom came up Friday for dinner where I dazzled my guests with spaghetti and salad. Classy, I know. But the main event was the Not Yo Mama's Banana Puddin' (Paula, Paula Deen y'all!). A proven crowd pleaser at events such as work pot lucks and random Fridays...also it should be noted that I nearly ruined a perfectly good breakfast casserole by using the wrong dish. Baby steps....

Unfortunately, the weather in Charlotte was uncooperative so we took a chilly tour of the city. We stopped at the farmer's market where I ogled flowers and homemade cakes and pies. Delicious. We did a Greenway tour and stopped for a photo shoot that you can see below:

(check out the bump)

The Sibs

Next on the agenda was South 21 Drive-In. In my entire 6 years living in Charlotte I have never stopped to eat here. When I worked at Family Dollar that place would be hoppin' on a Friday night....it never occurred to me to actually stop. Les and Sarah saw it on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives so we had to check it out. I assume they were impressed, however, I've never encountered a burger that my brother could walk away from sooo who knows. We also had to take a pit stop at Mr. K's for ice cream....that was baby's fault though. After a solid nap time we decided to go to a Knight's game....previously I worked there for 8 seasons so it was nice to come back after a 3 season break (this time as a spectator). Will was a jerk and pulled for the visitors. Not surprising since they were the Braves AAA team. Since it was Saturday we also got to view the "Fireworks Spectacular". Never have I have ever watched fireworks with a jacket and blanket...what a weird thing. Stupid spring.

note: Will is watching a baseball game live as well as tracking one on his phone. sick.

That about sums. I mostly ate but had a good time hanging out with the family. I wish Les and Sarah lived closer :( but I cherish our brief but excellent visits!

guess what? we're having a baby!

14 WEEKS

Alright, I did it.!! I went to college, I graduated, got a job(s), got married, and now I'm going to be a mum! Soooo many things accomplished in these short 28 years. Now that Will and I have been married a year and half I think it's time for me to actually get "domestic". While I still haven't yet mastered the whole dinner thing...I have become a professional grilled cheese maker, laundry folder, vacuum-er, and cat sitter. Ask Will, I dare you. I have attempted other things but not so skillfully and as I've always said, "I don't like to do things I'm not good at". That's a good life motto, right?!? Anyway, here  is my attempt at what I think my next step should be.....blogging. Lame right? NO! You're still reading! Enjoy...

Sooooo I stole the list below from my good friend Jessica (check out her blog here!) because I wanted a way to keep track of how I felt...and looked...during this pregnancy. Will and I are really nervous excited about being parents and I don't want to forget anything! Plus, if we decide to have more kids my mistakes will be forever documented for all to see. It will be more like a reference tool for the future. I'm sure I'll look back fondly on this blog and think "what the eff?!". I'll be honest, I've been stalking pregnancy blogs for the past 10 weeks or sooo I'm pretty informed.  Some things I wish I could unread. Not only do I have 3 of my best friends** to ask for advice but the internet has the answer to any ridiculous question I can come up with. So without much further ado I present WEEK 14!!

Total weight gain:   about 3 lbs but it looks and feels like 10...

Maternity clothes?  I've been mixing and matching...I have some pre-pregnancy pants and tops that are stretchy and still fit but I also bought some bigger shirts that feel waaaay more comfortable. I always have a pair of maternity jeans from Old Navy that I would wear everyday if that was acceptable.

Stretch marks?  Not yet but I'm nervous! I will be bathing in cocoa butter just in case.

Sleep:  I always want to nap when I come home...which I try to resist...I have a pretty sweet work schedule so I can sleep in until 8am if I want. Sooo, I'll go with "good".

Best moment this week:   Finally WANTING to exercise and not feeling like a sloth.

Miss Anything?  Delicious deli sandwiches, sushi, medium steaks, aaaand brie!!

Movement:  Not yet

Food cravings:  Anything that is a carb must go into my mouth.

Anything making you queasy or sick:  Sometimes eggs gross me out and beer...the thought of beer makes my tummy hurt.

Gender:  I WAS thinking girl but now I'm having boy dreams. Will thinks it is a boy...and my doctor said she is getting "boy vibe" from me. We shall see!

Symptoms:  Sleepy and hungry

Happy or Moody most of the time:  Happy I guess...although I have cried over the long line at Ben and Jerry's and other random commercials.

Looking forward to:  Finding out the sex!!! Oh and summer clothes. I'm ready for dresses (which I never thought I would say in my entire life) and sandals.

Alright, that does it for this week. I promise the next one will be shorter!
