month 10 & 11

Crusty faced Bubba. So sick but still so cute
Oh my gosh it has been so long! So many things have happened and I feel like I can barely remember them. My precious baby is almost an entire year old. She is still so small...it doesn't make sense that she can be ONE. I can't even. I'm getting emotional as I type this. I didn't even take any pictures with my "nice" camera. We will have to make due with iPhone pics [sigh]. Jameson has done so many new things...and I love all of them! We I struggled with the transition to the crawler's class at school. It was such a big change for me. Jameson went from being the tiniest baby in the infant room (and the oldest)...to being the tiniest baby in the crawlers room and the only one that didn't eat "big girl food". She saw some familiar faces in her new class but they are all boys :( She gets her bow ripped out by them daily. Stay strong, Bubba! AAAaaaanyway, she likes her new room and likes her teachers so we can deal with it. Aside from the worst illness-to-date....month 10 & 11 have been quite enjoyable! Here are some pics:
Jameson and Will getting ready to watch Frozen...we didn't make it...too grumpy.

J-mo at Will's soccer game...clearly interested in other things besides soccer.

Sleep:  Every other week is different! Sometimes she is the most awesome sleeper and then other nights she wakes up...I assume teething or sick usually.

Size: I don't know! She hasn't been weighed since her 9 month checkup. I'm guessing somewhere between 18-19lbs. Still a munch!

Clothes: 12 months! The pants are a little long but we cuff them and she's good to go. Her tummy fills out her 12 month clothes nicely. Little Buddha belly.

Diapers: Size 3

Eating: Thanks to the crawler's class this little bubba is eating big girl food! She can eat mostly carbs...ha! She will eat very small pieces of food with her little gums! Veggie meatballs are a hit...along with bread, cheese, and eggs. Duh. Now she won't even take baby food. My how things have changed!

Likes: Kitties! Jameson is in to matching things...shapes, colors, shoes, and bath toys. This baby will dig and dig until she finds a toys matching piece. She also likes to take things out and put them back in. So organized! Her most annoying "like" is closing doors on people. She gets the biggest smile when she does it too. Sometimes when she won't let me open the fridge because she keeps slamming it shut. She LOOOOVES Sofia the First and music. Music is the best. Especially Sofia's songs...her and Will could jam to those all day. Sometimes they do...

Dislikes: She hates loud things still! The teacher at school said she doesn't like the broom after meal time! Not shocking. Also, I'm pretty sure she doesn't like other babies touching her. I saw her (twice) push two boy babies in the face when they tried to get near her. I think she probably gets "bullied" in her class of all boys. I've seen her fight them off at the breakfast table. They love her puffs. She gets puffs instead of Cheerios...we haven't mastered sucking/chewing those yet.

Other: Sometimes the Bubs still gets tummy problems. Constipation from her formula and her bananas! We still use Miralax every now and then. Benadryl is a big hit with this fam. We try not to give it to her a lot but every now and then I can just hear the snot while she is breathing. So sad. I can't wait until she can blow her nose. I almost forgot our worst illness! We were home sick after Labor Day weekend for a full week. It was so bad. She wouldn't eat solid food and when she did she would throw up everywhere. I always cringed when people talked about "that time their kid threw up everywhere" and it totally happened to me....at least 3 times. EV-ER-Y-WHERE. It was the most miserable I've seen her ever. High fever and barfs. Terrifying.

Milestones: Bubs is a crawling machine! She is fast too! Pulls up on most things. In the mornings when I dry my hair she HAS to be up in my face. It's so sweet but takes me an extra 15 mins of hair drying. I guess matching shapes/colors is a milestone too??

Mommy Fail(s): I let Jameson have free reign of the house mostly. Big mistake. She is normally fine in any of the carpeted areas but she has been known to wander into the foyer and living area. "I turned by back for one second" story coming up...I went into the laundry room and then it suddenly go really dark and I turned around just in time to see her chubby smile as she slammed the door shut on me. It didn't lock me in but Jameson doesn't grasp to move out of the way and after 10 second of laughing it turned into beating on the door and crying...only I couldn't open the door because she was sitting right in front of it. This lasted approximately 5 minutes but 5 mins of baby tears are an eternity. Crazy little bubba.

month 9

9 months :)

Hey remember that time I called 911 because my baby had croup?!? Month 9 has been quite the eventful month! A week after Jameson turned 8 months old she woke up around midnight gasping for air. I went up to check on her and she made the scariest noise I have ever heard. A barking/seal cough followed by frantically trying to breath. I wasn't sure if I was overreacting so I ran her downstairs to Will and made him listen to her. I went and got her some water (dumb Mom thought she was choking and wanted to pour water right on top of whatever was causing it). I asked Will if we should call 911...thinking he would call me crazy...and instead he said yes. I can't really explain in words what she looked like but she didn't look like herself...almost like she was scared that she couldn't breathe. Not as scared as me though. Poor Bubs.

I called 911 and told them everything and they said "don't give her anything to eat or drink"...and some other instructions that I can't remember. I almost ninja kicked the water out of Will's hand as he was about to give it to her. Anyway, we ended up taking an ambulance ride to the baby hospital and then Jameson was all better. The EMTs that arrived before the ambulance knew right away that it was croup...which can apparently be helped drastically by standing in front of an open fridge or going into a steamy room....the LAST resort is probably 911. Haaaaa. Also, apparently everyone in the world except me knew to take a baby into cool air or moist air. Duh? At least Jameson had a fun ambulance ride (where she ripped off every sensor and cord and then put them in her mouth). She's a ham even in emergencies. As I am typing this she is making eye contact with me and growling/hissing at me. I don't even know what to say back to her so I'm just laughing. She is out of control. Okay on to the happy things!!

It's time for a "head-wear montage"!

"Le Bub"...not feelin' her beret.

"Hard-knock Life Bub". Instead of kisses she gets licks (from Rose).

"I'm Over It Bubs". This one was snug.

We didn't stop with hats. Yes, those are baby cowgirl boots.

She finally fits in her monogrammed bloomers from Emerson!!

Cranky Pants

She discovered her bow.......

Got it!

And then she found where I hid it.

Sleep:  Every single time I go to say how good she is at sleeping she has the worst night ever. So I'm not saying that...and I'm not, not saying that.

Size: I postponed her 9 month check up because she was home sick with a tummy bug. I didn't want to add to the misery. I'm guessing around 17lbs. She is a little big for her old diapers so I'm purely guessing off of their sizing.

Clothes: We are in some 12 month clothes but can still fit in 9 month for another few weeks I think. So many cute outfits to buy but every time I want to buy something I just can't pull the trigger. Baby clothes are so ridiculous. I could go nuts but instead she wears the same 6 outfits over and over. I'm that lady....she has one or two "special occasion" sassy outfits but usually just play clothes.

Diapers: Size 3 mostly...until we run out of size 2s.

Eating: Well we tried to get a little adventurous and do some jarred-meats...so far it was okay. That was about all we changed besides formula. Jameson is now on A.R. Enfamil which is the acid reflux formula that has a probiotic. This baby has the hardest time staying regular. She was getting Miralax in her bottles but something about giving her a stool-softener everyday made me sad. A.R. seems to be helping. That and regulating her banana intake....As far as food we use Gerber Organic baby food when they are on sale and Earth's Best jars otherwise. I really like the jars for some reason. They are so cute. Plus they are 4oz whereas Gerber's are 3.5oz...that half ounce matters to the bubster. She has 4oz for breakfast lunch and dinner and then 5 additional bottles equaling 26-28oz. I make some baby food for her but she is SUPER picky about textures. It works best if I make a fruit puree and add it to a small jar/cube of food. So far she has liked puree mangoes, strawberry/pineapple/mango, and peaches. I typically mix those with small jars of bananas or pears. Sweet potatoes are another story. Barf-city if they aren't smooth. Diva.

Likes: Naps (she is growing out of naps ON her Dad...he is heartbroken :() She loves kitties, music, and waving. Headbutting stuff is a thing now too.

Dislikes: She hates loud noises (vacuums, blenders, sliding glass doors??, and general loudness). Getting her diaper changed is a new struggle, as well as nail-clipping. Oh and I'm still picking at her cradle cap slowly...that enrages her reeeeeal nice.

Other: Sometimes she gets eczema...on really hot days. Her hair is out of control...it has to be in a bow. We were never big on headbands but bows are our shiz.

Milestones: Bubs is trying to crawl but mostly scoots backwards or gets her leg stuck. Jameson waves on command but adds her version of "heeeeey" with it. She says Dada allll the time. She has no desire to make anything close to an "M" sound for now. Every now and then she will high-five too!

Me: I finally have a routine. I use my 10k trainer app 3-4 days a week and do some light weights. Arms/legs/abs...nothing serious. Even though I somehow gained weight from working out...I feel so much better. I know it's cliche but it's true. Jameson and I still go on our weekend jogs in the neighborhood when it isn't raining or she isn't sick. She really loves her stroller....she will hang out in there for about an hour before getting too hot. Such a good jogging buddy.

Mommy Fail(s): I am still cramming my chubby-thighed baby into size 2 dipes when she has clearly outgrown them. Those things are way too expensive to waste. And if I decide to save them for Baby #2 I will probably birth a 15lb baby and not need them. Or I will just lose them. So for now this baby can wear some tight panties...it's only fair since she made me do the same when I was pregnant. Dems tha rulz!

Bonus!

I can't stop laughing at this photo. It was the first one I took but I think she must have remembered being blinded by the flash a few other times. Every time I would go to take a picture she would make this face. It was the funniest thing ever. Will is seriously questioning my parenting skills if this is what happens when she sees a camera now. So funny though. She did it 15 times and we would just roll on the floor laughing. Luckily she did it long enough for me to snap this gem!

month 8

Almost 2/3 of a year old...craaaazzzzy! I don't even know how this is possible. Sometimes I look at her and think "how is she so big?" and other times I ask "how is she so little still??". Jameson is definitely one of the smallest babies in her classroom. She does lots of things the bigger/older babies do...she just looks really small doing it! It seems like all the little boy babies we know learn to do things like crawl and walk much earlier than the little girl babies. Jameson is one of two baby girls in her classroom (the other 6 are boys!). Jameson's bestie, Emerson, moved up to the crawlers room (she's advanced!!)so J will settle for being friends with little Bailey until they are reunited. Jameson doesn't crawl yet so I think it will be some time before she gets to move up...probably at least another 2 months! Okay, on with the rest of the updates! Plus some beach pics!
Likes the sand and hates the water. Whose baby is this???

So many beach toys but I'll play with my Nose-Frida

Bed-head at Stacks in Hilton Head. "I'll take a short stack, but I only want to touch the pancakes and not actually eat them...". Still won't eat foods with "texture". Diva.
Sleep:  Still sleeping through the night but seems to be wanting to go to bed a little later at times. If she's sicks she usually wakes up once at night wanting her paci....and she is sick a lot so we wake up a lot. But we are sleeping so much more than before...sometimes I get too much sleep.

Size: We don't go to our next well-baby appointment until 9 months (didn't even remember when I was supposed to go back...had to ask Jessica). If I had to guess she is probably close to 16 lbs.

Clothes: We just upgraded to 9 months onesies and sleepers. She has lots of 6-12 months outfits that fit her well. We are completely out of 6 months clothes. Although, she does have this 3 month t-shirt I keep putting her in because it makes her have a beer gut and I think that is hilarious!

Diapers: Size 2 at night and size 3 during the day. We bought a ridiculous amount of 12 hour dry size 2 diapers that we use at night so she is still wearing those for now. The size 3 are a little big and she likes to pull on them. I can't tell if she is trying to take them off!?

Eating: Same as last month but shows a lot of interest in our food but when I let her try it she still gags and barfs. This weekend I have her a steak fry that was really potato-ey and when she held it she looked at me in disgust and dropped it. Too greasy mom! I've tried giving her puffs, mum-mums, and pieces of soft biscuit. Mum-mums seem to be the offensive to her. She just licks them until they dissolve or I find them smashed and damp all over something. Gross.

Oh and we switched to soy milk. Seems to help with gas but she is also on Miralax to help with her rock-poo. So I have no idea what helps and what she likes. Poor baby has tried everything once.

Likes: Naps with Dad, Kitties, Exersacuer, cell phones, milk, waving...and so many other things! She is mostly a really happy baby...unless you take her toy.

Dislikes: She HATES water! We have tried to get her to get in the lake, pool, and ocean...and she hates them all. She screamed at the lake, cried in the pool, and whined at the beach. I have tried to give her big girl baths but she freaks out every time. Any big noise in the tub and she loses it. Yesterday her little butt cheeks slipped in the tub (I was holding her so she didn't fall) but she lost it! I couldn't stop laughing so I'm sure that didn't help. She also hates when I leave her at daycare. Which makes me feel miserable all day :( So sad.

Other: Stills has the "eggs" (eczema) but it seems to be manageable. Her cradle-cap is out of control. I have been trying to get rid of it but it pulls her hair out. Not worth it.

Milestones: Bubs sits up completely by herself without a bobby...which she has done for awhile but it keeps getting better. J also can hold her own bottle! Such a big girl. She also waves on command! Not just a little hand-wave...a full blown arm wave from side to side. So freaking cute.

Me: I quit. I'm somehow 10lbs heavier than before I go pregnant but I can still "fit" in my old clothes. I can tell a big difference even from the last few months but I feel like there is so much extra skin! Whatevs. I told Will I'll go to bootcamp after I'm done having kids....I don't see how people have time or energy to go to work out classes. I'll get it together soon enough...for now I'm enjoying spending every free moment with Bubs!

Mommy Fail(s): I talked about cradle cap earlier...I used some sort of shampoo but didn't realize that I was only supposed to use a very small amount and I was also supposed to rinse it out with regular shampoo. Well....this baby went to school for 3 days with the greasiest and flakiest hair. So sick. I couldn't get it to come out. She was the grossest baby at school for sure. Sorry Bub.

pretending she is excited for water...lies!

she touched the sand so delicately! so cute.

best buds

she's too cute sometimes

our last day...so sad

month 7

How did a month already pass!??! I swear it was just May 1st. Add another month to Bub's count! She's getting so big and I can slowly see her growing out of being a baby-baby. Now she's just a regular baby. I should have done this post a week ago because now month 7 and the start of month 8 are blurring together. It seemed like we went on a lot of trips this month. We saw Uncle Nick graduate, we had our first Mother's day, and we visited Uncle Les and had our longest road trip to date. I would give the road trip a 7 out of 10 on the behavior scale. Some slight naughtiness but overall a decent trip. Graduation was probably a 6 out of 10...peaches spit-up and crying...I don't blame her though, I barely made it through my own graduation without being bored (sorry Uncle Nick :))

L to R: Will, Jameson, Michael, Uncle Dean, Mike, Nick, Cindy, Aunt Debbie, Richard, and Fernanda.

**Fun Fact: even though I was on time to my graduation I nearly missed it thanks to falling asleep in the locker room at the coliseum while I watched Saved by the Bell. I made it to the front with about 10 people to spare in line before walking out. Will also graduated that day and hung out watching TV in his locker room too...TV junkie soul mates!!**

Peach Face...they were everywhere.

Best Friends...I can't even....

And we know we can't go a full month without an illness...so we had one of those too. Actually, she probably got "sick" more than once. I can't even keep track of the days she has been out. At one point I think she had been out as many days as she was "in"...but I think that we are beyond that. I considered changing her daycare for about 2 minutes and then decided all daycares have germs AND I don't want to go through the emotional drama of leaving Jameson with new-strangers.

OH! and how could I forget that I had my first trip away from Jameson?? I went to Mexico for 3 nights without the Will or the Jameson. Kind of a bummer to go solo but I had fun with my friends. Obvi I wish both of them were there but mostly Will <3 (don't tell J). (p.s. It feels weird to go to an all-inclusive resort and not have your husband with you. I went on a romantic breakfast for one and didn't make that mistake twice!). Okay, on to the babe's stats. We will have to settle for an iphone pic since I can't find my camera cord ANYwhere!! I have some good pics from Washington on there too :(

Her face in this is cracking me up! She is always camera ready just like her Aunt Sarah!!!

Sleep:  Still sleeping through the night. Goes to bed anywhere between 7-8pm and wakes up around 6:30-8am. She somehow knows how to sleep in on the weekends. Good job, baby!

Size: 15lbs and 5ozs (ish)...with clothes and a dipe on. She didn't go to a well-baby visit this month so I'm not sure how long she is. She seems to reach the ground in her bouncer better so maybe she grew a little!

Clothes: 6 months clothes barely but I suspect she can fit in 9 month clothes easily. She wears 6-9 month stuff most of the time and the occasional 6-12 month outfit.

Diapers: Size 2 still!

Eating: 5 bottles a day and 3 big girl meals! She has a 6oz bottle when she wakes up and then some sort of fruit/oatmeal and a bottle, then lunch and a bottle, a bottle, and then dinner and a bottle! She can't hold her own bottle yet but she will hold the empty bottle to her mouth and try to get extra drops out when she's done! Hilarious.

Likes: Dad, Rose and Lady Cat, remote controls, cell phones, iPad, baths sometimes, and sweet potatoes! She likes to sit on the couch beside us all by herself and hold remote controls! Stoller jogs! Weekend big-bed naps with Dad are her absolute fave!

Dislikes: She hates being changed at school! She doesn't like right after she gets out of the bath and put on the changing table, whines the whole time! Peas. This is the most hilarious dislike...textured food of any kind. She gags if there is a chunk of anything on her tongue! Not only gags but then actually slow-motion throws up. It is the most bizarre thing!!!! She doesn't like to be ignored (totally in the "where's my mom??" phase). She also fights morning and late afternoon naps! But she looooooves a 2.5 hour middle of the day nap (me too J-bird!)

Other: Still drooly but we don't see/feel any teeth! Where are those things?!?! She still has slight eczema which we are combating with limited bath time and Eucerin galore! She has some cradle cap lingering too!

Milestones: Bubs can sit up by herself! I still put the Boppy behind her because she topples over every now and then

Me: I still have some left over chub but it looks like it's not moving unless I do something drastic...like stop eating fast food (never!). Soooo I'm working on that...I still do T25 every now and then but since it is nice out I try to go running with the Bubba outside. She loves it!

Mommy Fail(s): I know there were tons but I can't even remember right now...I'll make up for it next month! I'm sure there are 1000 grammatical and spelling errors in this post because I refuse to proofread it for some reason...so that can count???

month 6 and Easter

Half of a year...{sigh}. My precious baby-angel is becoming a big girl. I'm actually getting emotional writing this...wtf?? So far, every new month is "my favorite month". So obvi, this is my favorite month. But seriously, it's the best one. We had some big ups and some equally big downs but overall the ups outweighed the downs.

Our biggest "down" was Jameson having the worst week of sleeping in her entire baby life! The combo of getting an ear infection and being constipated were the culprits. It was not good. Luckily, Grandma (Nova) was able to help us out a few days! The following week I decided to try sleep training. I halfheartedly attempted this once before and gave up after 2 seconds...literally, 2 seconds. The second time was easier because 1)I tried it on my own instead of forcing Will to be the "bad guy" and 2) I had no choice. Will and I were getting an average of 4 hours of sleep a night for a little over a month. Bubba just randomly decided to stop sleeping from 11pm-6am! Anywho, since that second attempt (knock on wood) she has slept through the night! I can't believe sleep training really works!

Onto the good stuff: PICS!!!!

Someone woke up extra early for Easter...pretty sure it was still dark out. Crazy baby.

Digging through her basket...checking out Dad's Peeps.

Easter dress...I can't even...too cute!

Yes, I splurged on a monogrammed Easter basket. I seriously couldn't help myself!

Excuse our rash! Jameson's hair is getting so long on the sides! I had to use 2 bows to keep it under control!

Sleep:  Huzzah!! My baby is sleeping through the night...we are going on our 2nd week in a row. Yes, I had to sleep train. I consulted several mommies who all did it. I had no idea it was something a lot of moms end up doing. In my mind, I thought it was for naughty babies...but Bubba isn't naughty! Jk, she is! I love it. It took about a week to fully catch on but we went from rocking-to-sleep and putting her down (and then having to rock her back to sleep a few hours later...and repeat several time a night) to now, putting her down and letting her fuss a few minutes and then she passes out on her own. I actually tried that for the first time the other night...so far so good...I'm sure she will get better and better each night. I can't even believe how much better I feel with sleep...I work out again AND I make less ridiculous errors at work...and in life. (i.e. I haven't put milk in the cabinets instead of the fridge or closed out CAD drawings without saving and clicking no when it asks me if I'm sure I don't want to save?? Because why wouldn't I want to save 4 hours of work?? Oh because I haven't slept in days, that's why!)

Size: 14lbs and 2ozs (ish)...she shrunk since her last sick visit. I guess because she's nakey for her montly checkups when she gets weighed?? Jameson go 3 shots and I nearly cried. She was 24.25 inches long (thats the 3rd percentile). She is so petite!!

Clothes: 6 month cloths! Some 6-9 month...9 month stuff is a little big but she fits into the pants alright. Jameson is wearing more shirts and less onesies...which is hilarious when they ride up over her belly. So good.

Diapers: Size 2, I think we will be in these for awhile!

Eating: 4 six ounce bottles, a 4 ounce snack bottle after lunch, and 2 meals of food. Typically we have a fruit for lunch and a veggie for dinner. I learned the hard way that too many apples or bananas will constipate a baby. That along with formula equals screaming while farting at 1am. I laugh now but I cried when she cried. We had to resort to prunes...and if you've read the blog before you know that I chastised my husband for buying prunes...only to have her LOVE them. What a weirdo. She likes apples, bananas,  carrots, peaches, pears, prunes, and sweet potatoes. She tolerates green beans and squash. She hates peas...such a Will. We sometimes eat oatmeal for breakfast on the weekends too.

Likes: Daddy, daddy, daddy. Freddie the Firefly and Sofie are our go-tos. Bearic is always a hit. She has a cell phone and a crawl-ball that she's pretty into. She's starting to notice the kitties more...reaches for them and pets them. I'm almost positive she likes going on walks in her stroller! She passes out 90% of the time...which I count as liking it. Bath time is still a fave too.

Dislikes: She still hates things near her nose! She hates her sunglasses. She definitely hates that pink-bubble gum medicine. Nap time on the weekends are a struggle too! Will spoils her with naps on his chest so that is the only way I can get her down! It's adorable and ridiculous!

Other: So she is still drooling all over the place which has given her a horrible rash (as seen in several photos above). We actually took her to urgent care one Saturday night because I was convinced she got ringworm from one of our cats. Instead, it was yeast on her face from laying in her drool all night and day. She has the yeast thing on her face and then a monster rash on her chin and neck rolls that ended up being eczema. Hopefully she grows out of it :( For now she has a steroid cream to help treat it. Poor bub.

Milestones: Definitely mastered rolling over. She talks more than before...the baby noises before bedtime are hilarious. She is MUCH better with a spoon this month! Less spitting out food she doesn't like. Jameson learned how to show us she doesn't want something by practically spitting at us. She closes her mouth and makes a motorboat noise and spews food/medicine everywhere. It's way too cute to get mad at. We wasted a lot of medicine but it was worth it.

Me: I dumped that pump y'all!!!! Best thing ever, seriously. My original goal was to pump/breastfeed until Jameson was 6 months. I quit pumping just shy of the 6 month mark but have enough frozen milk to last another month...so I count that as a win! Quitting pumping was an experience...had to take a vacation day at work but other that it wouldn't have been so bad if I didn't try to work out during that time. Uncomfortable...to say the least. I'm just glad it's over. I'm happy I was able to do it for so long and probably could have gone much longer but, for my sanity, I'm happy I quit when I did.  Also, I did not lose my last few pounds as I hoped after quitting the pump. Still working on those...I'm close.

Mommy Fail(s): I feel like there were so many this time but now I can't remember. I know I inadvertently constipated my own baby by sending her to school with all bottles of new formula. It wasn't her "gentelease" kind so I think it was packed with iron and then I fed her bananas/apples/rice cereal (which apparently is a recipe for disaster).

jameson visits the zoo

Field trip! Little Bubba took a trip to Columbia to see the zoo. It was the first 80 degree day we have had in a while! I can't say she loved it but she was so good! She seemed to notice the elephants and flamingos but other than that she was just along for the ride. I'll take it! Anyway, the pictures are all mostly the back of Will and Jameson's heads as they stare at animals! Enjoy!

Flamingos! Shockingly, the smelliest animals at the zoo!

Galapagos turtles! I think she actually liked those!

The main event! In all my years visiting the zoo this is the closest one has ever gotten to us...
they were showing off.

Relaxin' all cool...

Koalas never do anything fun.

Family time. Jameson was too cool to be awake for a fam-photo
