month 9

9 months :)

Hey remember that time I called 911 because my baby had croup?!? Month 9 has been quite the eventful month! A week after Jameson turned 8 months old she woke up around midnight gasping for air. I went up to check on her and she made the scariest noise I have ever heard. A barking/seal cough followed by frantically trying to breath. I wasn't sure if I was overreacting so I ran her downstairs to Will and made him listen to her. I went and got her some water (dumb Mom thought she was choking and wanted to pour water right on top of whatever was causing it). I asked Will if we should call 911...thinking he would call me crazy...and instead he said yes. I can't really explain in words what she looked like but she didn't look like herself...almost like she was scared that she couldn't breathe. Not as scared as me though. Poor Bubs.

I called 911 and told them everything and they said "don't give her anything to eat or drink"...and some other instructions that I can't remember. I almost ninja kicked the water out of Will's hand as he was about to give it to her. Anyway, we ended up taking an ambulance ride to the baby hospital and then Jameson was all better. The EMTs that arrived before the ambulance knew right away that it was croup...which can apparently be helped drastically by standing in front of an open fridge or going into a steamy room....the LAST resort is probably 911. Haaaaa. Also, apparently everyone in the world except me knew to take a baby into cool air or moist air. Duh? At least Jameson had a fun ambulance ride (where she ripped off every sensor and cord and then put them in her mouth). She's a ham even in emergencies. As I am typing this she is making eye contact with me and growling/hissing at me. I don't even know what to say back to her so I'm just laughing. She is out of control. Okay on to the happy things!!

It's time for a "head-wear montage"!

"Le Bub"...not feelin' her beret.

"Hard-knock Life Bub". Instead of kisses she gets licks (from Rose).

"I'm Over It Bubs". This one was snug.

We didn't stop with hats. Yes, those are baby cowgirl boots.

She finally fits in her monogrammed bloomers from Emerson!!

Cranky Pants

She discovered her bow.......

Got it!

And then she found where I hid it.

Sleep:  Every single time I go to say how good she is at sleeping she has the worst night ever. So I'm not saying that...and I'm not, not saying that.

Size: I postponed her 9 month check up because she was home sick with a tummy bug. I didn't want to add to the misery. I'm guessing around 17lbs. She is a little big for her old diapers so I'm purely guessing off of their sizing.

Clothes: We are in some 12 month clothes but can still fit in 9 month for another few weeks I think. So many cute outfits to buy but every time I want to buy something I just can't pull the trigger. Baby clothes are so ridiculous. I could go nuts but instead she wears the same 6 outfits over and over. I'm that lady....she has one or two "special occasion" sassy outfits but usually just play clothes.

Diapers: Size 3 mostly...until we run out of size 2s.

Eating: Well we tried to get a little adventurous and do some jarred-meats...so far it was okay. That was about all we changed besides formula. Jameson is now on A.R. Enfamil which is the acid reflux formula that has a probiotic. This baby has the hardest time staying regular. She was getting Miralax in her bottles but something about giving her a stool-softener everyday made me sad. A.R. seems to be helping. That and regulating her banana intake....As far as food we use Gerber Organic baby food when they are on sale and Earth's Best jars otherwise. I really like the jars for some reason. They are so cute. Plus they are 4oz whereas Gerber's are 3.5oz...that half ounce matters to the bubster. She has 4oz for breakfast lunch and dinner and then 5 additional bottles equaling 26-28oz. I make some baby food for her but she is SUPER picky about textures. It works best if I make a fruit puree and add it to a small jar/cube of food. So far she has liked puree mangoes, strawberry/pineapple/mango, and peaches. I typically mix those with small jars of bananas or pears. Sweet potatoes are another story. Barf-city if they aren't smooth. Diva.

Likes: Naps (she is growing out of naps ON her Dad...he is heartbroken :() She loves kitties, music, and waving. Headbutting stuff is a thing now too.

Dislikes: She hates loud noises (vacuums, blenders, sliding glass doors??, and general loudness). Getting her diaper changed is a new struggle, as well as nail-clipping. Oh and I'm still picking at her cradle cap slowly...that enrages her reeeeeal nice.

Other: Sometimes she gets eczema...on really hot days. Her hair is out of control...it has to be in a bow. We were never big on headbands but bows are our shiz.

Milestones: Bubs is trying to crawl but mostly scoots backwards or gets her leg stuck. Jameson waves on command but adds her version of "heeeeey" with it. She says Dada allll the time. She has no desire to make anything close to an "M" sound for now. Every now and then she will high-five too!

Me: I finally have a routine. I use my 10k trainer app 3-4 days a week and do some light weights. Arms/legs/abs...nothing serious. Even though I somehow gained weight from working out...I feel so much better. I know it's cliche but it's true. Jameson and I still go on our weekend jogs in the neighborhood when it isn't raining or she isn't sick. She really loves her stroller....she will hang out in there for about an hour before getting too hot. Such a good jogging buddy.

Mommy Fail(s): I am still cramming my chubby-thighed baby into size 2 dipes when she has clearly outgrown them. Those things are way too expensive to waste. And if I decide to save them for Baby #2 I will probably birth a 15lb baby and not need them. Or I will just lose them. So for now this baby can wear some tight panties...it's only fair since she made me do the same when I was pregnant. Dems tha rulz!

Bonus!

I can't stop laughing at this photo. It was the first one I took but I think she must have remembered being blinded by the flash a few other times. Every time I would go to take a picture she would make this face. It was the funniest thing ever. Will is seriously questioning my parenting skills if this is what happens when she sees a camera now. So funny though. She did it 15 times and we would just roll on the floor laughing. Luckily she did it long enough for me to snap this gem!
