month 21

21, stinking months old! Even though I still call her a baby...she is definitely a full blown toddler. At the end of May Jameson moved up to the 2 year old class (she is the youngest and smallest in this class). I was a little worried since most of her buddies stayed behind in Toddler I but she adjusted just fine. The first week there were tears. No "ba-bas" in this class (even at nap time). They drink out of big girl cups and some of the kids are even potty trained! But, she loves her teacher's and even gets special "beauty salon" time with them. She comes home with the most hilarious hair-dos! I can definitely tell a big difference from 18 months. She has such a sassy attitude that constantly cracks me up.

Hammin' it up for the camera per usual

This baby has had so many changes in the past few months that I know I will forget to document some. It is easier for me to list them so here are some of the things I can remember :)

  • Little Baby Motor Mouth...this baby talks to herself, me, daddy, toys, and cats. Sometimes before bed she just starts testing out weird sounds. She has tons of little "catch phrases" like, "here go mommy/daddy", "thank you mommy/daddy", "no Rooooosesh", "where did he go?" and 1000 more than I can't even think of.
  • Asks to go "night-night"....sometimes
  • Asks for meelk (milk with her sweet accent)
  • Goes to timeout...often
  • Learned to jump in the pool (we've made so much progress with the pool)
  • Floats in her tube by herself some
  • Tries to blow bubbles (in the water and out)
  • Cleans up her mess after meals
  • Asks for her diaper to be changed AND as of this week she pooped in the potty. We danced...and ate jelly beans
  • She also has a preference in her clothes now
That is all I could come up with for now but I'm sure there are so so many more. I'll do another Jameson-isms post later in the summer if I get a chance. I'm sure I'll have tons of sweet stories about her by then. But for now, here is a photo dump of our last few months! Enjoy.

jameson-isms

I decided to make a new type of entry for this month called, "Jameson-isms". She has done some of the most hilarious and ridiculous things in the past few weeks that I never want to forget. I think I will just list them. Jameson.......

Jameson in "monster mode". This is her out of control part of the night between 7-8pm...

Chased Lady Cat around the entire house then fell straight on her face. Just when I was sure she would be crying with blood pouring out her mouth...she looked at me and found the tiny cat food nugget she dropped, picked it up, and continued to chase the cat with her enticing gift.

Picked up a not-quite-dead water bug and handed it to me like it was a piece of candy. So so gross.

At school a ladybug landed on her arm and after staring at it, picked it off her arm, and tried to eat it (this is via daycare so I'm suuuuure she actually ate it before they could stop her...no judging...)

Learned to let me know she used the restroom by tugging on her diaper and saying, "eww?". So cute.

Picked a half-eaten cheeseburger off my plate and took a huge bite out of it like she knew what she was doing. "She thinks she is grown", as Miss Sherell would say.

Walked over to her boyfriend at school (Owen) and gave him the biggest hug and then walked to the playcenter to get them matching fedoras. He loved it. Then they went and sat in the reading center together.

Learned to yell "ewwww" (with the most judge-y face ever)when anyone burps, sneezes, hiccups, or makes any sort of noise out of the ordinary.

Found a Trouble Doll in my jewelry box and ripped it's head straight off it's body. For those that don't know what one is (Trouble Dolls or Worry Dolls). That is some serious bad luck J-mo....

Ran away from me inside QT while lifting her shirt and doing the aforementioned "diaper tugging"...all while yelling "EW" and then simultaneously ran out of her shoe so was barefoot for most of the chase. I was holding a sweet 32oz diet Dr. Pepper without the lid while I chased her and a family judged me while picking out their tacquitos so I judged them back....that was a low point for the week.

Anyway those are only a few of the hilarious things I could remember. And even though I didn't capture any of those things on camera (thank goodness)...here are some photos for your viewing pleasure.

month 18

It never sinks in how old my BABY is until I start to write these posts. I can't believe my precious angel is a little girl! Don't believe me? Check out this pic:

this baby loved her new romper

Just within the last few weeks she has learned so many new things. Her vocabulary grows daily. Here are her list of words she can "say":

Daddy (alllllllll the time)
Mommy (only once in a blue moon)
Nose (she loves pointing to her nose and saying it)
Meow (can't really say kitty but meows when she sees one)
More! (she does this with the sign...sooo cute)
Where'd he go? (this is more of a noise but I know what she means)
What is it? (same as above...mostly mumbles)
No
Oh noooo!
Teeth
Ball (pronounced daw)
All done (after meals and anytime she doesn't want to do something)
Eat! Eat! (she means sit in a chair)
Go-go (this means go outside or in the car)
I do (we think that is what she is saying at least...)

Such a big girl. Other things she can do now are wash her hands, sort-of use silverware, color, drink out of a cup with straw, climb, and 100 more things I can't remember right now. Jameson is in the phase where we can't really go to stores or restaurants for more than 20 mins. She doesn't want to be in the stroller, grocery cart, or carried...she wants to walk and touch things (I DO!!). So bad in public. I think it is cute but Will is mortified when she breaks free and terrorizes other babies or small animals. It makes doing much of anything a challenge. I RARELY take her anywhere by myself except on the weekends. Tag-teaming seems to work best...that or staying at home.

As most of you already know, we had a rough March this year. I had a miscarriage at 16 weeks from a virus called CMV. Total fluke according to my doc...she said it was seriously a 1% chance of something like that happening. Will and I had a few sad days but have bounced back and are excited to move forward. We had a lot of time to reflect and know that we are so lucky to have things like a healthy daughter, good jobs, and a home. It almost made us feel silly for being upset. Crazy how something like that makes you put things in perspective. That being said...we decided we needed a change and put our house on the market! Houses are selling so quickly in Charlotte right now! If all goes well we will list on May 1st! Spread the word people :)

Right around the same time that I was sick, Jameson got sick too and had SHINGLES!! It looked so gross and painful. No one could really explain to us how a toddler can get shingles but we think we just had a terrible virus going through our house and got us really sick. That is the best explanation we got. It really is the most random thing that could have happened. Thankfully, shingles isn't painful to toddlers and babies. After day one of meds she already started looking much better. I am so thankful that it wasn't worse. I feel so awful when she gets sick.

Here are some pictures of our last 2 months! This is hardly everything...we did lots of stuff but I rarely get my camera out in time. I am majorly out of phone storage (once a month) and never can take pictures when I really want to! But this is what I have handy for now:

This picture kills me. Her face plus Rose's face are the best. Valentine's Day treats. She was telling him "no!" when he tried to share.

Checkin' out her haul from the school Easter egg hunt. Marie and Appleby are never far behind....

Too much

I almost died at how cute this was....and then she looked back and asked me to hold hands too. DEAD!!

There are about 25 different variations of this where at least one of us isn't looking at the camera....

"Eat Eat"

Me, Bubs, and Mimsy

"I do!". Showing Mimsy that she can do it by her own dang self!

K byeeEEEEEE

month 15 & 16

I'm getting so bad at this! I've decided to change it up a bit this time though. Instead of my old format I'm just going to write about the babe instead of all the little segments. I don't even know where to start though ...she's such a big girl sometimes!! Just within the past month she finally started walking! She had taken 1-3 steps a few times between 12-15 months but this time she is WALKING. She still prefers to crawl sometimes when she wants to go fast but she definitely likes to show off her skills in the kitchen and bathroom (hard surfaces vs. carpet). Other than walking and trying to talk this baby toddler doesn't have much time for anything else! On to the pictures!
Here's Bubs on Christmas morning (it's the only picture we took....terrible parents). It was rather dull holiday for us since both Will and I were fighting off a tummy bug. Jameson was afraid of her teepee from Santa too. Not quite how I imagined her 2nd Christmas but hopefully next year will be more eventful!

Bubs with her long hair. She can pull off pigtails AND ponytails these days. Such a big girl.

Mom and Bubs first adventure to the park. I don't know what took us so long but it was finally warm enough to visit and all she wanted to play on were the swings! I can't blame her. She tried the slide but was not impressed. She walked around a bit but kept going back to the swings. So cute.
I really can't get over how much she has changed even since 12 months. She definitely likes to test our patience...I think on purpose...but Will swears our angel would never! She laughs in my face when I tell her NO but she will listen to Will. I can't say I blame her since I start laughing 90% of the time I'm trying to "discipline her". Anyway, more to come! I hope to keep this up monthly!

year one

Oh my word I might actually cry as I'm typing this. One entire year! The shortest and longest year of my life. My baby toddler is such a little girl! Even though she is still a teeny-tiny munchkin she is officially a toddler. We have upgraded to a big girl seat in the car, we drink whole milk, and eat ONLY big girl food. Soooo grown up these days. Jameson's birthday party was great! I had lots of good ideas and then I got so busy that I ended up just doing whatever I could come up with in a week. On top of the party we had my grandmother and other family in town for the long weekend. So many things! My friend Jess snapped some pictures of the party (I didn't take a single picture). Thanks Jess! I threw in some Halloween pics too!

Jameson's cake and decorations

Month by month wreath! A year worth of instagrams.

barely put a dent in it but so happy!

she eats soooo daintily...doesn't like dirty hands!

this cool Bubs is about to get her State Fair on

giant pumpkin viewing

not as interested in horses as she was the goats...those were just her size

carousel made out of balloons!

sooo happy to go on a trike ride for Halloween!

the only good one we got with the "hat"

so happy even after 5 shots earlier that afternoon. what a trooper.

Sleep:  Time change is a B...but Jameson seems to be adjusting well! She sleeps 10-12 hours a night with 1-3 hours worth of naps. She is like me. Loves naps. Some days she takes 2 naps and some days it's just the one...those days are fuuuuuuuuuuuuun (eye roll)

Size: Oh my word she is the teeniest little baby!! She weighed 19lbs 1oz at her visit on Halloween...which puts hers in the 37th percentile. Aaaaaand she was somewhere around 26-27 inches...I actually can't remember because I was so shocked to see that she was only in the 2nd percentile in height. Sooo little. I'm hoping she is just a late bloomer like I was but as long as she's healthy we are okay!

Clothes: Jameson wears 12-18 month clothes most of the time. The 12 month clothes are tight on the bellies but the 12 month pants need to be rolled up. She is in size 12 month shoes (barely). We had the hardest time finding shoes with soles that were small enough for her. The shoes that are measured in months typically seem to be for immobile babes...but we got some sweet Pedipeds that Jameson loves since they come in small sizes.

Diapers: Size 3 all the way. She still wears Baby Dry at night and Swaddlers at school.

Eating: All big girl food now! I'm so proud! She loves all her veggies. She prefers the frozen (fresh) veggies to anything canned. Good for her! She looooves bread and bananas! She can hold a half of a banana and eat right off of it! There isn't really anything she doesn't like as far as I can tell...maybe red sauce?? We will see. When she doesn't like things at school she takes them out of her mouth and drops them over the side of the table so she doesn't have to eat it. Smart cookie. Oh and she is on all whole milk now! We tried soy for fun but she haaaaaaaaaates it.

Likes: She loves being chased! "If You're Happy and You Know it", clapping, Sofia the First, making a weird growl noise, blowing kisses, her orange kitty (real and fake), and I swear she loves waking up and having us come get her.

Dislikes: Soy milk. Still hates bodies of water. Screams through baths most of the time and even tried a shower which was so-so. I really can't think of anything she has a strong dislike for. She hated the vacuum and broom for awhile but I think she got over it!

Other: She loves playtime and loves her little walker. She likes to match colors and always wants to be holding matching things. She likes pulling things out and putting them up. At school she got in trouble for going to the laundry basket and pulling out all the clothes. I bet if they left her alone she would have put them all back! She got 5 shots at her last checkup which was so so so sad. At least we got the flu shot out of the way though.

Milestones: Bubs can "cruise" along furniture and walk with the walker. I think she might figure out how to stand on her own soon! She gets into a downward dog position and then freezes and isn't sure where to go. Jameson has 2 little teeth on the bottom and I suspect some more will be coming in the top. She can "say" some words like "bye", "hi", "dada", "mama", and recently she picked up a toy telephone and said "hello". And when I say "say" I mostly mean that she imitates the sound the words make or the inflection someone uses. It's pretty hilarious.

Me: I gave up after being only 4lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight. I fluctuate quite a bit but I can deal with it!

Mommy Fail(s): So many things probably. She rolled off the bed on my watch...in my defense she was playing with a giant lumbar pillow and rolled over it and onto the floor. I cried. I felt so guilty allllll day. She even tried to do it again later that day. Crazy baby.

family photos

Better late than never! Our first true "family photos". The best money I ever spent. We used Amanda McQuade photography and she was the best! I can't get over how great these turned out. Hope you like them too! Enjoy!
