week 28

Sooo nervous!! I just took my glucose test this morning and I'm terrified I'm going to fail. The nurse that checked me out at the front desk said that I would have already been informed or receive a phone call later if I didn't pass, but I'm pretty sure she didn't know what she was talking about. I'm crossing my fingers for a no-call! I remember laughing at my BFF Jess when she was nervous for hers but now I totally get it! I don't want to stop eating dessert every night and carbs all day! Hopefully I'm safe!

Grandpa- O and CoCo (photo credit Michelle Sonefeld)

This past weekend we went to my Grandpa-O's 80th birthday party! I was going to post pictures from it but I hated every picture with me in it so I just decided to show this one! It was a really good time! I saw cousins I hadn't seen in a few years along with aunts and uncles...good times. Plus, extra bonus...I got to see my brother!! Lots of food too. Just for fun I weighed myself once I got home and I totally gained 3 lbs of pure meat weight. I'm sure that will make my dad proud! I ate everything in sight...seriously.

after the glucose test I decided it would be a t-shirt, jeans, and no make-up day at work...don't worry...no one even came in the shop today!

Total weight gain:   It has been confirmed...26 whopping LBs. And it definitely feels/looks like it. I going to be pushing +40 lbs when this is all said and done. I will have my work cut out for me after birth.

Will Quote of the Week: "You're sooo pregnant! (realizing his error) I like it!!"

Maternity clothes?  Yea, I'm beyond trying to look cute. I just trying to make sure all of my vampire skin is covered. I feel like my body is rejecting sun. Also nothing is form fitting enough...that sounds the opposite of what I would want but I prefer the clingy clothes because I look less like a house. Whatevs.

Stretch marks?  Still just those dang ole boob stretch marks! I'm still lotion-ing at least twice a day!

Sleep:  Sleep has been alright so far. I haven't stayed up toooo late and I take a 30 minute nap occasionally.

Best moment this week: At my glucose test this morning I was getting my sonogram and little Jameson's heart sounded so fast from the go-go juice they made me drink....but I SAW her kick/punch the sonogram wand. The nurse laughed (she usually is a poker-faced ice queen)!! Good one Jameson!

Also, I read Jameson grew eye lashes this week! I hope she gets Will's Lady Lashes. So lush!

Miss Anything: Yea, soccer and working out. I will never take those things for granted again!!

Movement:  Yup!! Still at her normal 10AM and 11PM hours and depending what side I sleep on I can feel extra movements! They are higher up than previously too!

Food cravings: RED MEAT!!!!! I could eat a burger everyday...and I pretty much do. I got my results back from my life insurance blood/pee test and it said I had "elevated" cholesterol. Whoooooooooooooooops! The doctors at the OBGYN haven't said anything to me so I might try to cut back but.....it's just do delicious!

Anything making you queasy or sick:  My reflux is under control and I'm trying not to eat after 8PM so that has really made a difference!

Gender: A wee baby girl!

Symptoms:  Just some lower back pain. Also, I think my boobs are shrinking if that is even possible. Maybe it's all in my mind.

Happy or Moody most of the time:  Pretty happy with the occasional cranky face on the weekend. My patience is slowly diminishing. Less yelling at Will and more yelling at strangers. STORY TIME: I gave a lady at Harris Teeter stank-face for a solid 3 minutes. She was probably a good 75lbs overweight and parked in a handicap spot....she stopped short of the cart corral by a good 15 yards and gave her car a big shove in the general direction of the corral. She watched as it started to veer off course and then hit a bump and went back towards the corral. The end result was the cart NOT being anywhere inside the corral but adjacent to the entrance for someone else to handle. I saw her take a stutter step towards fixing it and then she decided to waddle away. I waited to make sure she saw me standing with my mouth open and when she refused to make eye contact I just yelled "Really??!?!?!". She was not persuaded to go back and fix it thought....instead some man that seemed afraid of me took it all the way inside. I cursed her once I was in my car and hoped that every McDonalds in a 50 mile radius was out of whatever meal she was about to SuperSize. Ass.

week 27

I caught back up! Feels good! This week went by so fast and so slow at the same time. I originally set a goal for myself to be finished with the nursery BEFORE my 3rd trimester in case I turned into a sloth. My BFF Jessica told me that it was like a switch flipped and she was all the sudden sooo tired in her 3rd trimester. She's due August 22nd!!! She's so close! Go Jess Go! Anyway, I mentioned last week (really this week) that I dreaded my bumpdate pics because I feel sooo large. Well, after watching Will spontaneously start doing my INSANITY dvd I started feeling really bad about not working out. I've never been a hardcore fitness buff but I did play soccer at least twice a week with the occasional run and some biweekly Y visits. Since finding out I was pregnant I have stopped playing soccer/running/Y-ing. My body had decided to punish me by adding fat in places that I wasn't even sure could get fat (i.e. calves?!!?). Sick. Soooo, I started doing a video that my SIL gave me months ago. It's Summer Sanders...you may remember her from here or more importantly, here! She is prego in the video and loses her balance as often as I do. That pleases me. Here are some photos of my work out partner helping me stretch:

here's me getting a full face rub.
this happens with all floor exercises.
then he just laid in the
middle of my area.
here's me stretching...and getting a kiss.
such a good motivator!
(yes, I'm upside down)

So yea, at least I have 3 more months to tone these fat girl arms. We'll see how long this motivation lasts....now for my McFat photo and weekly summary!

I'm really amused by the fact that I had to crouch to fit in this monster mirror I found in our work room!
Gah! Get this girl a tan will ya?!?!

Total weight gain:   All of the pounds. I have gained them all...there are none left for anyone else because they are all in my boobs, arms, and legs. OOoo don't forget the face!

Maternity clothes?  Eff yea. I need more. Mostly spandex.

Stretch marks?  BlergALFJALKFJDfjdlfjaldkfjlkafdjl. You know what it means.

Sleep:  More stupid dreams but having some better luck falling asleep.

Best moment this week: My mom brought up our stroller! Whoooo! Thanks Patti! We made Will put it together. I'm dying to use it for some reason. Like I'm not really a mom until I get the accessories (oh and the baby...) or something...
Also, I saw Claire Daines 15 inches in front of my face after dining at Dish. You know how I feel about Dish.

Miss Anything: I dreamed that I was eating sushi. Pathetic. I miss working out and I miss being comfortable in clothes. Even my jammies hurt sometimes.

Movement:  I had a panic moment until I talked to Jess...I didn't feel her as much for a few days but now she's back to normal. We must have been in a fight or something...total silent treatment.

Food cravings: THIRST!!!!! I thirst but the more I drink the more I pee. Terrible cycle.

Anything making you queasy or sick:  I saw a pair of dentures online and got really nauseous. How random is that? Otherwise just the usual reflux. Nothing some Tums Smoothies can't cure right?

Gender: chica

Symptoms:  Just some back/shoulder/neck pain.

Happy or Moody most of the time:  Happier this week than last! Must be that whole sunshine thing...It looks like we may go a full day without rain today...I'm sure I spoke too soon.

So now I'm off to enjoy my last week of the "honeymoon" of all trimesters...who makes this shit up, honestly?? Hopefully in the next few weeks I will have some more nursery updates and possibly a patio update (that's for you Will*).

*Actually, Will is one of my only family members that does NOT read my blog. It's probably for the best.

week 26 (overdue!)

I'm starting to get slack! Not because I'm tired, not because I'm busy, and not because I lost interest...I mostly dread taking my "bumpdate" picture now! Everything is TOO big right now. I am more than thrilled to be growing a baby but sometimes it is hard to watch your body go through changes that you have no control of! Crazy! I mean I do more than my fair share of eating and some exercising so I can't say that I have "no control". But here is an example of what I'm NOT doing...WTF?!?! That's a Facebook video so you may have to log in to view. If you can't use the link it's a woman due in 39 days doing a CrossFit workout. I was out of breath attempting fat lady push-ups last night after discovering cellulite on my calves and arms soooo....yea. Here is last week's update and hopefully I can get this weeks out before the week is actually over....

I picked this one in case my half-removed head would distract you from the largeness beneath it......did it work!?!?

Total weight gain:   1,000 lbs. But really I'm too afraid to look but I think it is like 23-25lbs. Unreal.

Maternity clothes?  I can't wear anything with a demi-panel. It feels like I'm being sawed in half. But yes, only maternity.

Stretch marks?  I'm pretending they aren't there. So awful.

Sleep:  Sleep is the same as it has been. Weird, weird, and weirder dreams. This week, in my dreams, I was team captain for some sort of an obstacle course competition where celebrities and random pregnant Michaels were competing. Celebrities got to select to be on my team. I was devastated when Reggie Bush didn't pick me but at least I got Shemar Moore?!? and Steve Spurrier?!? What the?!?? I'm sure we won....

Best moment this week: I don't remember....everything maybe??

Miss Anything?  Sushi and cold cuts. Not at the same time.

Movement:  In the AM and the PM...that is when I'm sitting still and can feel her the most.

Food cravings: So thirsty. Burgers...all the time. I could eat one every day.

Anything making you queasy or sick:  Sometimes chicken grosses me out and then sometimes I really want it. I think onions are giving me reflux along with every single other thing I eat. Awesome!

Gender: princess

Symptoms:  last week I wrote "pregnany brain galore"...I did NOT intentionally misspell pregnancy. I'm telling you this is a real struggle for me. I HAAAAAATE messing up.

Happy or Moody most of the time:  I don't even know anymore. I have had sooo many things on my mind. I think I'm moody...some might even say bitchy...at times. At times, I said!!!

Sorry, this one was boring. This is what happens when you forget what happened the week before. Everything is blurring together. Time is standing still AND flying by at once! So weird!!! So much left to do before baby time and I'm getting into that unmotivated phase. Let's blame the heat. Yea, the heat :) Until next time amigos!

week 25: nursery update!

I'm so excited to finally have something to show for the nursery update!!! I have been in the crankiest mood for weeks and I think it was all over nursery room anxiety. I don't know why I didn't take a before picture...but I didn't so oh well. Lets just say it was a disaster area. Will gets husband/dad of the year award for his patience with me during this. Anyway here is the infamous "Rock-a-bye Pink" room with bead board paneling...

Here is our soon-to-be changing table. I haven't decided if I want the glass door or the wood door yet so I left one of each. I'll have to see what it looks like with baskets/diapers/other in there first. I might change out the hardware but for now it will be fine. Too many decisions!!

Here is the most comfortable swivel glider ever!!! (Thanks Dad and Michelle!) It is seriously so comfy. Will and I took turns sitting in it for like an hour. We decided we need another...not happening but it would be sweet! Also, Will asked where Jameson's TV is going. POW! RIGHT IN THE KISSER!!

this picture brought to you by SmartWater! Jk....

Here is our crib!! I typically HATE things on an angle but I have done this layout in my head a million times and now in real life but I just can't find a way for the room to "work" without the crib that way. As we fill in the room I'm sure it will come to me. I'm so indecisive right now! The little antique armoire/chest is tentative for this space. It is the only thing with drawers for clothes we have so far so I'm not sure if it will be replaced. If it stays I will paint the inside or line it with grass cloth. Also, the hardware will definitely need to be changed. TBD so stay tuned!

Here are some of my favorite action shots from the day! Will loves doing housework in cotton shorts. He is an 80 year old man deep down. He is NOT allowed to wear these in public. In one picture Will counts his tools carefully and in the next he discovers the gold wheels that come with the Jenny Lind Crib...he is not impressed!!

So we still have a ton of things left to decide on like:

-Window treaments...probably white wooden blinds with sheer panels? I don't know...I do like Roman shades too!?!
- 5'x 8' Faux Sheepskin Rug like so...
- Ikea shelves and frames
Ceiling fixture. Fan or chandelier?? I have no idea...
- Ottoman (I think Lauren D. might have this covered for me :))
- Bedding...I don't even want to talk about this or I will start crying because I can't make a decision. Why is this so hard!?!?

Will after 25 weeks of indulging Michael on all of her pregnancy "needs"!

Fat Michael in her husbands t-shirt because all hers are tooo small!

Total weight gain:   I quit weighing myself because it depresses me but I'm guessing about 20lbs because I've almost ripped every pair of pants in half that I own.

Will quote of the week: "I feel like I want to post this on Facebook because now everyone can know how much you love me!!"
This was because I agreed to watch Die Hard 1-3 tonight for our "Summertime Movie Marathon: Die Hard Edition". He made that up...we have never done this before...I'll explain WHY we had to do this later*

Maternity clothes?  I nearly ripped my maternity khaki shorts in half when I sat down. So yes, definitely in maternity clothes but I will need to switch to dresses only soon.

Stretch marks?  I debated fessing up to this because it might send me into a rage where I punch a hole through my computer screen OR send me into tears in the shower for an hour. One of those things already happened...but, YES, I found stretch marks. I found them and I hate them. I freaked out, bought $50 boob cream, coated myself in a half-inch thick creamy-shield, went to bed and woke up hoping they were gone...but, alas, they were still there. I then proceeded to google celebrities with stretch marks to make myself feel better. Jury is still out.

Sleep:  Sleep is fine...going to bed at a decent hour is no longer possible. I don't know why I stay up so late!

Best moment this week: Definitely the nursery progress! And also, my in-laws came up and spoiled us! Will's dad bought us some new hydrangeas! This time pink! You're welcome Jameson! Will's mom took me to get our car seat AND some much needed new maternity tops!! Thanks guys!

Miss Anything?  I bought beer for Will at the Teeter and stood in front of the cooler for 5 minutes ogling the flavors. I want a staw-beer-ita. The end. I can have one of those next trimester, right?!!?!?

Movement:  Yep! At 10 AM and late night like clockwork!

Food cravings: I ate a chili dog y'all.  I have been craving cook out food all summer. I found these . Yea, yea I know hot dogs are awful for you but I really wanted one.

Anything making you queasy or sick:  I can only tolerate chicken in small doses now. I almost always crave red meat. I want hamburgers all day everyday. And sometimes a hot dog....

Gender: Girl!

Symptoms:  Pregnany brain galore. *I returned an unwatched RedBox DVD and didn't realize it until I got home....thus leading to our Die Hard Bonanza.

Happy or Moody most of the time:  Happy with a large side of cranky. I feel better now that the nursery looks good. I was so terrified that it woudln't turn out how I wanted that I obsessed over it! It looks so good and I feel so relieved!!

Adios for now!

week 24 (and meatloaf)

Only 4 more weeks until I'm in my 3rd trimester! That seems ridiculous! I'm going to sidetrack here for a minute and announce something amazing...y'all, I got Will to eat meatloaf!!!!! I feel like more people hate meatloaf than people that like it...much less love it. I love meatloaf good meatloaf. I am a sucker for any restaurant offering a meat and 3 combo.

"MAAA! THE MEATLOAF!!!!" This a glorious slice of meatloaf-heaven from Dish, my favorite restaurant in Charlotte! This is what I was eating when we found out Jameson was a Jameson...claaaaaaaaassssssssssy! I will make Jameson love this place too...(majority rules William!)

I don't even remember if we ate meatloaf growing up. Anyway, I tricked Will. Most meatloaf has onion or celery or some other "crunchy vegetable" (is an onion a vegetable?? I count it). Anyway, I made it boring but with lots of sauce and he ate it. He ate it all. AND I made mashed potatoes (real ones) and he liked them. For those of you that don't know...Will and I are very stubborn about our Thanksgiving mashed potatoes. He prefers his mothers' and I prefer my mothers'. Since I make them, I do it Patti's way (they have sour cream and cream cheese in them). Anyway, I had all the intention of having baked potatoes and then decided that was dumb and made mashed potatoes at the last minute. He only liked them because I added triple the amount of butter I normally put in them. I don't know how we are still breathing this morning.
Alright, enough about that. Let's see what the fatty has been up to!

FAT GIRL IN A LITTLE COAT! Someone stop letting me wear stripes dammit!

Total weight gain:   Dr. H only has me at +17lbs so I'm totally going with that!

Will quote of the week: "You don't look pregnant from behind...I mean you're a little wider but I'd still 'date' you."  The man of my dreams ladies and gentlemen! This quote was not even instigated. I was simply getting ready for bed and minding my own....

Maternity clothes?  oh yea oh yea oh yea. I just ordered some new items from Old Navy. Gotta keep things interesting!

Stretch marks?  Not yet....I wince every time I look at my belly after I get up...as if they appear over night. Actually, they probably do.

Sleep:  I tried to switch sides of the bed with Will to see if it made a difference. It really did, but then he gets in bed before me and steals his spot back so I'll never get to retest. So selfish. Also, both cats have had increasing interest in the Snoogle. I woke up this morning to both of them sleeping on it...along with me!

Best moment this week: A "stranger" in my neighborhood pulled over to tell me congratulations. I was weirded out and then got emotional at the same time. I've never talked to this lady but from what I can tell she is a nice lady!

Miss Anything?  Summer cocktails. And more specifically a turkey/bacon/brie/honey mustard sandwich from Laurel Market. Whoever delivers that to me at the hospital can have a million dollars after I win the lottery. Dead serious.

Movement:  Yes! Mostly at night. Will's face was hilarious one night when he felt her dance around over and over. She's got Will-moves.

Food cravings: Just the normal forbidden items. I don't really get crazy for anything. I have been eating a lot of red meat though...

Anything making you queasy or sick:  Just chicken on the bone still. The thought of it can make me dry heave.

Gender: Pretty, pretty princess!

Symptoms:  Soooo out of breath walking up hills. I caught myself walking with both hands on my hips through the neighborhood. Stupid. People probably think I'm about to have this baby any second with the way I struggle/waddle on my walks. For the record, I waddle because of chub rub (inner thighs rubbing when I don't wear pants).

Happy or Moody most of the time:  Happy...I told Dr. H about all my delivery fears. She is due in less than 2 weeks! She told me I was being crazy and that mine would be perfect (liar, but it made me feel better).

That's all I got!!!

week 23

Looking and feeling larger by the day it seems! This is crazy talk! I had a pretty emotional past week or 2. Last week my BFF Kirsten gave birth to a precious baby girl. She was just under 7lbs but she feels and looks soooooooo tiny!! I have to watch how I say that because I'm sure 7lbs does NOT feel small coming out of you. I only have my cats to compare sizes to, so that is what I'm basing it off of...no offense KK! Sike, KK won't be offended. She loves cats as much as I do!
And theeeeeeen, my friend Aimee in Hawaii had her baby boy early this week. So many babies. I am overwhelmed! I haven't gotten to talk with Aimee that much since the time change is ridiculous and I want her to get situated before I bombard her with 5 million questions. Good luck Mimi!
Alright, here is the boring stuff...

It's all boobs. Gross. Also, now I get why prego ladies always put their hand where I have mine. We aren't being "tender"...it's so people can tell that you have a form and are not, in fact, wearing a bed sheet. It's proof that there is a reason you look like a sweaty obese homeless lady.

Total weight gain:   18.5 lbs........ga-ross. Oh well. I eat what I want and exercise. Although, I mostly do more of one than the other (it's not exercise...shhhh!).

Maternity clothes?  I just put on my stretchiest outfits out of my closet. I did finally break down and buy new bras. I went to VS for their semi-annual sale and to my surprise I found some of the most comfortable bras ever! The only catch was they came in hot pink with sequins and lime green with leopard print trim. Ridiculously inappropriate for this fat-pregnant lady in my opinion.

Stretch marks?  No, but if I ruin one more shirt with disgusting oily cocoa butter stains seeping through silk/sheer polyester AND still get stretch marks...heads will roll!!!! For some reason I don't trust anything else but that paste...it's mental.

Sleep:  I can't even tell anymore. I feel the same when I sleep 5 hours or when I sleep 9 so I'm clearly missing that median number. It's probably 7...but I'm too lazy to get up.

Best moment this week: Our glider AND crib came in. Plus I bought a Sleep Sheep impulsively. The cats love it...

Miss Anything?  I have dreams about running and playing soccer. So I guess I miss that?!? Who would have thought!

Movement:  Baby James plays soccer with my bladder from 10pm until I fall asleep. I hope this isn't a sign to come for sleep patterns. If she is like me she will be a night owl and nap away her days!

Food cravings: I want frozen yogurt every night! The craving doesn't kick in until 9pm and it's too late for TCBY at that point. It's for the best though....oh also, I crave frozen coffee drinks. Never in my life have I been like that!

Anything making you queasy or sick:  Not really, just gross heartburn/acid reflux after certain meals.

Gender: Guuuuuuuuuurl

Symptoms:  Just weight and sometimes weird random pains. Oh and my tums is itchy even though I lotion it in the AM and PM!

Happy or Moody most of the time:  Happy but delivery fears have begun to set in! I am terrified of the unknown. 2 of my best friends gave birth this past week and their birth stories are so completely opposite. I like to read blogs and freak myself out too. Am I right Jessica?!? Anyway, I have a while to think about it so I may as well get over it!

This post was weak, I know. I don't even feel like checking for errors....sorry grammar police! I wanted to post pictures and do a nursery update but my glider and crib are in pieces right now. Once Will finishes the bead board installation in the nursery you won't be able to get me out of there. So hurry up Will, dang! The people are waiting!
